Comments: worked on these sketches from the other day
Lemur: I had already kinda made the line art the other day, but I redid it all anyway so that ate some time. Everything was colored with a relatively small brush. I also gave it shadows, but not highlights
Anyway, humanoids are a weakness so I try to throw them in every now and then
Also, I meant to shrink and re-center my sketch so that the tail would fit on the canvas but it was too late by the time I realized that I didn’t. Shrinking the line art would’ve pixelated it all and I had everything but the tail done
Duck: maybe I’ll redo this one? I had a different idea of water in mind that’s a little more complex. But then I went more simplistic with it all. Was thinking of all the Posca pen art I used to see on IG. .. I’m sure those artists still exist but I never see that art anymore

Comments: An Aaron Blaise-ish style again
Edit next day; the better descriptor just struck me: Aaron Blaise “technique,” not style. I’ve watched his YouTube videos but also have some of his art lessons. This is using a technique he showed in the videos…. And definitely not his style. XD; But I was trying to say I was using the technique, that’s why I said “style ish.” Cuz it’s definitely not his style
(He’s an ex Disney animator that draws a lot of animals and makes a living now off his YouTube channel, hosting art lessons & selling stuff on his website. I haven’t properly studied the lessons and it’s been a while since I’ve watched them.
And to his credit, he doesn’t claim this technique. I just attribute this art style to his work. It’s just sketching with pencils, markers, pens, pastels, etc on toned paper…. But kinda keeping it to about 3 colors at a time. Usually there’s a black pen, gray marker, white pen)

Comments: wanted to draw a big cat cuz I had just edited the above post, talking about Aaron Blaise.
Should’ve done this with a more cartoony style. Didn’t like how flat it was so then I spent more time scribbling on it lol. It’s fine, I’m just unhappy with my own rust
It’s technically a WIP, but I don’t think I’ll return to it
…. I also want to finish up some of the WIPs from earlier days. Like XD that donut pic was left behind. I don’t even remember what I original had planned for them, but want to see that through
Edit; maybe part of what I dislike is that I sketched the normal eye size. I’ve been enlarging eyes lately so it just looks odd
