It’s a lot more bald-and-hairless when it’s all monochrome like this XD; all naked mole rat … Im hoping to draw tomorrow and go back to my plan of spending more time on art. We’ll see

Comments: I had downtime today to catch up on art. I saw the ref for last week’s FPC last week… and was excited to paint it.
However, I didn’t get a chance to work on it and now this week’s FPC was released a couple days ago and I was more excited to work on that
So, I worked on this a little because I still want to do this one… This is obviously a WIP

Taking advantage of having no time minimum for easy mode just to fill this slot c: I filled it in by coloring with a pencil… not a fill… or else this would’ve been faster XD;
My goal was to be more mindful and at least create my own original concepts for art but…. I don’t really feel like drawing today. So if I waited for feeling like putting energy into concepts… then idk when I’d draw. So now I’m taking the something-is-better-than-nothing approach

I wanted to do a sketch with paper and pencil. It’s not worth digging out my old art right now. So I skimmed through my older digital art.
I drew this tiger for 100 Day Event 2020 and I still like it.
Sooo redrawing it, when I didn’t feel like drawing AND had a headache (aspirin didn’t help)…. I figured it’d be interesting to try redrawing art that I still love instead of picking something from one of my days that were obviously quick doodles
I spent more time on the original than on the new one. I would still like to render the new one more. I really didn’t feel like drawing. I keep saying this. XD So I wasn’t enjoying it and needed to get it to an okay stopping point. Anyway, it’s technically done, though I would render it further

Comments: I pictured Frog (Chrono Trigger) with a much more intimidating, dynamic pose. I should’ve gotten that sketch down first. …. But I only faintly remembered the character design so I googled a ref before drawing. The art is so wimpy and dorky and stiff. XD … I mean, so is mine. But the official art was nothing like I was gonna draw. The dynamic pose left my mind after I saw the dorky stance. I still ended up making some changes.. but mostly just sketched the ref after I found it. I lost the wind in my sails
…. I’ve done some googling since and found out that the ref I used was made by a different artist for the Final Fantasy Chronicles release. It makes much more sense. I couldn’t believe Akira Toriyama made such stiff art for Frog. Turns out, he didn’t! (It was Tadayoshi Yamamuro)
