Day #: 33 Theme: Want,but don't need Time Spent: +/- 1hr 15 mins Comments: I forgot to add that I want to finish writing my multi-chapter fanfic,so I can work on the other incomplete drafts I have. This current chapter is giving me some trouble. sweatdrop I also want some time away,just for me. I'm dealing with some chronic burnout at home,but I can't afford to take time off.My mom and our cats depend so heavily on me (only adult child) and I don't want to let them down,but it's not in the cards at all.

Day #: 34 Theme: Hairstyles Time Spent: 45 mins Comments: I love how this came out, but I definitely need to study other types of hair besides Caucasian/white since the world is filled with so many beautiful varieties. I want to expand this at include some others I didn't have room for and try to render different colors,too. I was able to cheat a bit and used a Kinder Bueno spoon to keep the head sizes consistent.

The spectolite reminds me of an oil slick. I may have taken a bit of creativite liberty with the 2nd drawing,though. Refs in spoiler below.

Day #: 36 Theme: Beaches Time Spent: 1 1/2 hrs Comments: I did the line art 1st (duh), but I decided to try something new and erased it and redrew it with the color pencils alone and I like it better this way. I will have to do it this way more often. I wish I could press harder to get more vibrant colors,but since it's just a sketchbook (labeled a doodle pad) from the no longer a "dollar store", the paper is thin and might tear. I bought a medium weight and heavy weight pad from there,too,but have yet to use them. The paper isn't really white either; it's kinda off white/grayish. Also ref is here.

Day #: 38 Theme: Raven Time Spent: 1 3/4 hrs Comments: I tried to blend metallic blue pencil with matte blacks and grays to show the subtle iridescent properties of the feathers. Just finished reading The Portable Edgar Allen Poe a few days ago,so it had to be done.

Day #: 39 Theme: Something Outdoor Time Spent: 1 1/2 hrs Comments: The reference photo was taken in the field behind our house despite living in a suburb of a large city. We also live in an area within 5 minute's walk of a major river. I named him Rusty Buck after watching several episodes of Major Crimes. Even though there's been a lot of development around us lately,we still occasionally see deer walking by. This was the only time I've seen him since 2021. I hope he's still out there somewhere,but it's unlikely we'll continue to see wildlife up close especially since they are taking out the pear trees he loves to snack under.

Day #: 40 Theme: Color Palette Challenge from Day 35 Time Spent: 3 3/4 hrs Comments: I used the Loomis Method to work on his face. Shading was completed with the browns and gray for his skin and hair. I have actually never seen Vampire Diaries, but I just love this picture of Taylor Kinney. heart I figured I screwed up the palette challenge from the other day,so I thought I would fix it. Reference Image. I've read mixed reviews, so should I watch it and/ or read the books? Maybe just the episodes he's in?
