「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] Her mother, Mioyo, had her alongside her siblings, Monsuni and Nanfsi. She was loved dearly and given plenty of attention. [New Friend!] She met and befriended Kyiana while still a clumsy, wee cub. Once teenagers, life changed. Minyua struggled watching Kyiana settle into her new clan, the Starborne, and missed the days when she'd spend almost every waking moment with her best friend. Unbeknownst to Kyiana, Minyua had also begun to develop romantic feelings for her. She entered adulthood determined to confess to Kyiana and, perhaps, even try colony life. Unfortunately, it didn't go exactly as planned... Kyiana not only rejected her feelings but also gently broke the news that it was time for her Starjourney to begin. Bewildered, Minyua left their meeting spot heartbroken and angry, blaming the Starborne for the growing divide between the two.

Once a wanderer, Sirius didn’t plant roots until the birth (and subsequent dumping at his metaphorical doorstep) of his first child. These days, he’s come to cherish the small patch of land and the family he has claimed as his own. He’ll fiercely guard his loved ones and home with bared teeth if he must, although he’d much rather spend his nights beneath the stars, charting unnamed constellations alongside those he holds dear. While typically on the quieter side, he leads his people with warmth and an eagerness to always be there for the Starborne.

「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] Sirius was a long-awaited and planned blessing, born to parents who had wished for a bundle of joy for years. With eyes always turned to the stars and questions gathering on his tongue, Sirius grew into an inquisitive and thoughtful child. His early years were peaceful and quiet, spent nestled in the mountains alongside his quaint family. Adulthood came, and Sirius remained by his parents' side until their passing. When they were gone, he set out once more, searching for a new place to call home. A storm interrupted his quiet travels, and he was fortunate enough to meet a beautiful, starry-flecked feline who offered her den as shelter. He accepted her kindness and, to his surprise, spent the night finding comfort in her arms. Come morning, Sirius thanked her warmly and promised to return before continuing on his journey. [Rogue Breeding!] He settled in a cozy mountain cave not far from the starry-flecked feline, a quiet hope lingering in his heart that she might seek him out again. To his surprise, that wish was granted one night: she appeared at the mouth of his den and gently placed a small, frail cub before him. She told him the child was theirs, and there was no mistaking the resemblance. Caught off-guard but already smitten with the tiny life before him, Sirius proposed they raise her together. The feline gave him a long, squinting look before suggesting they take turns caring for the child while getting to know each other better. Sirius agreed and learned the cub had already been named Kyiana. The mother promised to return in two weeks to take her turn and, maybe, spend a few days seeing how co-parenting might work between them, but she never came back. Sirius made one attempt to track her down, but ultimately returned home to focus on the child she left behind. [Colony Founded!] Sirius hadn’t ever dreamed of founding and running a colony, but his unique way of living under the stars gathered attention from passing visitors in search of a warm bed for the night. Some left, but others stayed, interested in learning about Sirius’ culture and his ways. Naturally, he began to lead his guests into a new, permanent way of living, naming it after his father: the Starborne. [New Friends!]Cressida came to the Starborne as one of the founding members, bringing with her a surprise of her own… she was pregnant! Sirius was elated — children were a welcome joy to surround his days with, and his own child would certainly benefit from more friends her own age. Naturally, Sirius took on a fatherly role for the future brood, although he did originally try to give space for the visiting father, Saunek, to find his feet. Evidently, Saunek’s hesitancy and obvious anxiety left a sour, bitter impression on Sirius, who couldn’t imagine how one could be so reluctant to raise their own child. Founding a colony was a lot more busywork than he expected! Sirius split his focus between watching over the Starborne and raising his daughter, with just a liiiiitle more attention spent on Kyiana. [New Friend!]Orestia was a solid presence in his life, as both a friend and therapist (when he allowed himself to actually talk about himself). So focused on his duties, the beginnings of affection developing towards her weren't yet noticed — honestly, even if he did realize his feelings, Sirius was far too used to ignoring his own wants and needs for others. Kyiana reached adulthood, and he had a beautiful cloak designed to give to her on the first day of her Starjourney. He held back proud tears as he watched her set out with her adventuring party.

[Born!] While her mother didn't want her and quickly abandoned her on Sirius' doorstep, Kyiana was doted on by her father, never once wanting for anything. [New Friend!] She met and befriended Minyua while young. [New Colony!] Much to everyone's surprise, Sirius found himself the leader of a colony that had naturally formed at his feet. While initially hesitant, Kyiana opened up to colony life, enjoying the company of new faces and, eventually, the arrival of more children in the colony alongside her. Her relationship with Minyua was strained, growing tense with tension when Minyua kept complaining about not seeing her best friend more often. At first, Kyiana tried to spend more time with her friend, but shuffling back and forth between colony lands and Minyua's home meant she missed important lessons and training. Eventually, the time spent together dwindled, despite both girls' attempts. Reaching adulthood meant it was time to start her Starjourney! Her father even commissioned a beautiful cloak for her travels, which she immediately adorned. Her excitement for her upcoming adventure was briefly dimmed when Minyua not only confessed her feelings towards Kyiana, but also spoke poorly of the Starborne when Kyiana attempted to gently turn her down. Hurt, Kyiana fled the scene without saying goodbye and met up with her adventuring party.

A natural born leader despite early attempts to remove herself from the role, Freya has since stepped into leadership with a quiet but steady determination, intent on freeing others from the harsh control of clawed paws and iron teeth. While quiet and often more of a listener, Freya offers wise advice learned from a life of trial and gives fierce devotion to those who choose her as a close ally. It's fairly common to assume her frosty exterior represents how she views others, but Freya deeply cares for her people — her face struggles to show her emotions, but her heart readily expresses itself. Not one to act without thought, Freya's temper only arises when someone has caused grievous harm to someone she holds close. She tries not to succumb to those emotions, but, well, we aren't all perfect.
—————————◊ ◊ ◊—————————
「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] She was born into royalty, the sole child of her colony's king and queen from distant, far lands. From her earliest days, Freya was shadowed by her appointed guards, assigned to protect the young princess so she might someday inherit a heavy crown. [New Friends!] Among those guards was Saunek, a guard her age assigned to her as a small child. Though she often found his strictness and constant fretting frustrating, she cherished the rare moments when she could coax him into playing like any other kid. Alongside her introduction to him, Freya was also assigned a nanny trained in combat named Sundri. [Leaving Colony!] The night before her heir ceremony, Freya made the choice to leave, uneasy with her family's rule over their people and unwilling to own the lives of others as they did. While her guards pleaded to stay by her side, she reluctantly allowed them to follow, hoping they would one day find their own paths. Sundri smuggled her out of the kingdom walls and stayed behind. Instead of leaving, the guards who came with her chose to stand by her side in the world beyond. Freya reluctantly allowed it and explored the lands she had never seen before. As time went on and she learned more about the darker sides of the world, Freya began to wonder how she could help those in need. Saunek confessed growing feelings towards her, which were gently but firmly rejected. He did not love her, Freya told him. At most, he was infatuated; a romance between the two would be unethical in her eyes. That, and he had always been as a brother to her. Saunek did not take the rejection well, despite attempts to play it off, vanishing often at night to go somewhere else. Freya did not pry — she had other things on her mind. [New Friend!] The group heard of a ma'ome slaughtering a nearby village while traveling. Despite her guards’ protests, Freya set out to find the culprit and bring them to justice. That was when she met the towering but kind Atticus, who prowled the village edge also in search of the one to blame. At first, the villagers insisted Atticus was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but Freya’s instincts told her otherwise. Trusting her gut, she offered him her aid, and together they tracked down, subdued, and delivered the real culprit. Though Atticus’ name was cleared, he chose to leave the village lands and join Freya’s band instead. This event would start the first ponderings of what would become a much bigger tale. [Colony Founded!] Days, nights, weeks, months passed, and Freya's traveling party had found a new purpose in their life: to live by their personal oaths and free those unable to pursue theirs. While originally she was reluctant to call their way of life an established system, her group naturally began to operate as a colony, evolving into a proper order named by her guards: The Order of the First Oath. Finally, Freya accepted her role in life as their leader and made a vow to protect those unable to save themselves. As things grew more and more official, Saunek was notably missing more days than not. It wasn't a surprise when he padded to her den and admitted he had fallen truly in love with another and wished to stay by her side. In fact, Freya was happy for her oldest friend! She had long hoped he'd live a life for himself someday — one not chained to her side by duty. She swore he'd always be welcomed to visit her home, and he promised to live life to the fullest. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but Freya smiled as she watched her friend leave for the last time. Not long after Saunek’s departure came the arrival of an injured Sundri. Overjoyed to have finally tracked down her princess, Sundri barely managed to reach Freya before collapsing as she ran to greet her. With her last breath of strength, she delivered the news: Freya’s father had passed, and the kingdom was falling. Sundri spent several nights in the healers’ cave, too weak to speak more than a few strained words. Weeks passed before Sundri recovered enough to truly talk. When she did, she begged Freya to return and claim her throne. After several debates founded in Sundri's own brainwashing from her kingdom, she realized their way of life aligned far more closely with her own beliefs than the kingdom she’d left behind. She joined the order eagerly. With a lot to do and never enough time in her mind to do them, Freya busied herself with excavating local caverns for her new colony.

When asked to describe himself with positivity or even neutrality, Saunek will find himself unable to form the words in his throat. To him, he is a doer — he serves, protects, and ensures others live long, healthy, safe lives. When it comes to him, well... he has to be fit and strong to do those things. He trains, eats well, and does his duties. Life is simple when he breaks it down into these consistent, step-by-step tasks. It is only recently that he's begun trying to carve his own way in life, having abandoned duties long assigned to him at birth in favor of living beside his mate and children. He still struggles with his sense of identity, but he's trying. That gruff, prickly exterior has softened around the edges — still likely to mask pain with sarcasm or a quick quip, but also aware enough that he doesn't truly want to live that life. Maybe, if he works hard enough, he might become someone he's proud of.
—————————◊ ◊ ◊—————————
「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] He was born into a warrior circle within a closed-off colony that, from the moment he entered the world, sold him to a neighboring kingdom to be raised as the princess’s personal guard. His early childhood was a harsh one, entirely devoted to training from the second he woke until his eyes closed for the night. [New Friend!] Saunek was given to the king as a teenager once deemed ready to begin his duties protecting the princess. The day he met Freya was an uncomfortable event, as she began asking questions about his life and tried to encourage him to share sweets with her (which he, of course, refused). Freya did not relent, spending many of her days trying to coax him out of his shell in between lessons. Sometimes, for just a moment, he would crack, and the two teenagers would share a moment together like normal children. Most of the time, he wouldn't, although he longed to forget his duties and play with her and the palace children. [Leaving Colony!] It seemed only natural to follow after Freya when she plotted to escape the colony before her heir ceremony. He was an integral part of her departure planning, risking his life for hers without a second thought. Irritation blossomed when other members under her care also joined, but he'd remind himself that more paws meant more chances for the princess to escape safely. Together, a small group of guards escaped the kingdom with her and entered a world unknown to them. After refusing Freya's insistence that her followers find their own lives, Saunek trailed after the group into the temporary mountain system they'd live within while figuring out their future, together. A split moment found Saunek vulnerable as he wondered if, perhaps, this new reality might mean something more could develop between him and his childhood love. Still, Freya kept her distance from his admittedly infrequent attempts to court her. After what was, in his eyes, one too many times embarrassing himself, he left the mountain to stretch his paws and vent frustrations. The goal was always to return, once he could finally quell the burdensome feelings towards her. [New Friend + Breeding!] What was meant to be a one-night stand to blow off steam with a pretty sparkly feline became an unexpected twist in his life journey. Cressida was beautiful, kind, and made him feel wanted, but he knew he couldn't stay after their shared night. He returned home almost immediately after their encounter, thrown back into the horrible, sinking dread growing in his chest each day he spent alongside Freya. Cressida stayed on his mind, a reminder of what it felt like to share heat with another, and he found himself seeking her once more. "It's just to make sure she's okay", he had told himself, but when she was no longer in her old den, he felt a nagging worry in his chest. Where had she gone? He hadn't meant to look for Cressida. Originally, Saunek had claimed his travels were to scope out new land for his group. Perhaps that was true, at first, but when he spotted a familiar teal color flash on the side of a mountain, well... he found himself barreling after it and meeting both Cressida and her new colony: the Starborne. She was also far rounder than before. He wasn't an idiot, nor was her leader. The word pregnancy left a sour, acidic taste in the back of his throat — he couldn't be a father. Not a decent one, at least. Saunek returned to his temporary home, visiting Cressida sparsely throughout her pregnancy until the birth of their children. His visits would lessen once he realized that Sirius, the Starborne leader, had naturally begun helping Cressida with the children, disguising his growing resentment with claims that he was just too busy. He had so much to do, he'd complain; didn't Cressida understand? They'd be fine without him, anyway; they had Sirius already. He stopped visiting the Starborne and Cressida as much, focusing instead on Freya and her growing group of travelers. One night, the nagging voice in his head became too loud — too personal. Cressida was not his princess; Freya was, and his loyalties had to belong to her. It was his duty. He confessed his feelings for Freya to the ex-princess, only to be met with a firm rejection. "You are enamored," she told him. "You do not love me." She continued her rejection; he was a brother, not a lover, and any relationship between the two would be unethical. How could he ever feel equal when she had been his keeper for his entire life? While her reasoning was sound, Saunek took it poorly and fled from the group, initially wandering aimlessly with no end goal in mind. He did not return to Freya's group for some time, but he also didn't head towards the Starborne, either. He needed time to think, time to consider what it was he actually wanted. Who was he, if not the right hand of a princess? Who could he be? The questions kept pouring in, but answers never came; instead, they burned through his sense of identity, leaving him vulnerable and wounded. All he knew, deep down, was that when the hurt became too much, Cressida's face would appear in his mind. No, no, she was too good for him — she deserved a better life without being swallowed by his shadow. [New Colony!] His self-hatred wore him down and led him back to the Starborne to see his children and Cressida. Now adults, his children excitedly filled him in on their lives and upcoming Starjourneys. One had even already completed hers and had become a member of the Night Watch! His heart swelled with pride as he looked at the family he had helped create, and with that pride came a deeper longing for a life with them. It was the first actual happiness he had felt in many moons. Carried by that feeling, he found himself impulsively standing at Sirius’s cave, asking to join — a decision he would never regret. Sirius accepted, though not without warning that Saunek would have to prove himself worthy to the stars if he wished to someday stand among them. Now, joining obviously meant he'd see Cressida again, but he hadn't truly considered that until he bumped into her. Immediately, his eyes noted her new cloak, decorated in a manner akin to his own markings. While dense at times, he wasn't dumb— even if Sirius would say otherwise —and knew what it stood for. As expected, Cressida began her usual flirting, and he was ready to begin the usual repetitive rejection. Except for a reason he could not determine, things played differently; Cressida told him exactly why she had fallen in love with him, and the world came crashing down. Love? She loved him? No, he didn't deserve her love. He wasn't worthy of it, nor was he even sure if he knew what love actually was. He had lived a life without love for so long... and yet, didn't he love his children? That must be love, he realized, and alongside this realization, he thought of how Cressida had become the last thing he thought of before falling asleep every night. Of how his chest would swell when their eyes met, or he found himself drawn in her direction. Reluctantly, and with tears, he admitted he loved her in return, but he feared not being enough for her. Cressida swept him against her with warmth, love, and kindness, and as one, they would begin putting back the pieces of him together. [Mated!] Finally, after years of their dance, Saunek and Cressida became mates. He decided to become a hunter for his new colony and began establishing himself within the Starborne. As a final goodbye to his old life, he returned to Freya and told her of his new mateship and desire to live with her and her people, to which Freya gladly congratulated him. The two promised to always be there for the other, even though their lives were now going in different directions, and Saunek officially closed the chapter of his old, duty-forward life. He had found love, and he'd live for it and the family that had saved him.

Quiet and stoic by nature, Mountain is a fairly composed ma'ome. He prefers to linger in the background, content to let others take the spotlight while he observes. His reserved demeanor often makes him easy to overlook despite his looming size — something he uses to his advantage to gather information. It is with his family, however, that Mountain truly comes alive. To them, he is warm, passionate, and protective; a devoted family man at heart. 「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] He was born into a vast, bountiful colony where names were not given at birth, passed down only when another’s life ended and their name was released back into the community. As a child, he struggled with his identity. Though his heart leaned toward peace, he was raised and trained for combat, pushed into a role he never truly wanted. It was only upon his mentor's passing that he was given a name— Mountain —and felt he could explore who he truly was. [Leaving Colony!] Mountain’s home was never a kind one, and as he grew and learned more of the world, his longing to leave only deepened. What began as a dream slowly twisted into a burning need to get out. Then, on an otherwise ordinary day, Mountain finally broke free, fleeing his colony and journeying north, as far as his legs could carry him. He settled in the mountain lands, content at last with the peace he had earned. Except, it was too quiet. Though he did not long for his old life, he found himself missing the steady hum of activity that had once surrounded it. He'd wander down the mountain from time to time, roaming the beach edge in search of... well, anything. It was then that he discovered a small bundle of food, wrapped up neatly like a present. Clearly, someone had left it behind in hopes it'd be found, but Mountain was not one to accept a present without one in return — perhaps, if he was honest with himself, he hoped the gesture might reveal the one who had left it behind. [New Friend!] Mountain soon found himself caught in an ongoing gift exchange with an unseen giver. Whatever he left behind would vanish, replaced by something grander, to which he would respond in kind. It became a pleasant— if somewhat frustrating —routine, knowing someone was reaching out to him yet never knowing who. At last, one morning, he arrived earlier than usual and finally caught sight of his mysterious gifter. The moment their eyes met and he overheard her talking to herself, she bolted. Determined, Mountain gave chase, and when he finally caught up, he introduced himself properly. The gifter revealed herself as Te Fiti, beginning their fast friendship. [Breeding!] Their friendship soon blossomed into a warm and passionate romance, followed not long after by the arrival of children. For Mountain, it was a dream come true. Having a family had always been his deepest wish, and to him, Te Fiti was as close to perfect as anyone could be. [Mated!] While raising their young, Mountain and Te Fiti finally put a name to their relationship, becoming mates. [New Colony!] Like Mountain, Te Fiti had once belonged to a colony, but hers had been lost to tragedy. Whenever she spoke of it, her words carried a quiet, solemn melancholy. So, when she expressed a desire to revive the culture of her people, Mountain encouraged her wholeheartedly, standing at her side as she began to rebuild the colony of her kin: the Nani’Kai. [Breeding!] As if to celebrate the opening of their colony, Te Fiti fell pregnant again. Mountain, as before, was elated to grow their family.

The colony she was born into would also aid in their efforts to raise their children with adoration and love, giving her a happy and rich childhood. Adulthood brought new responsibilities, and Hina couldn’t have been more excited. At first, it all felt thrilling, but she soon began to notice a distance between herself and the others. Being the leaders’ daughter meant she carried higher expectations, along with impossibly big shoes to fill. She knew her parents had never asked her to hold herself to those standards, yet the pressure lingered all the same, nagging at the edges of her thoughts. [New Friend!] The colony welcomed Nanuk into the fold, and Hina made quick work of introducing herself. He was assigned to watch over the royal family, and she spent much of her free time trying to get him to just relax. He was always so uptight, always working — he needed to learn how to smile! Hina made it her mission to drag him out on fun ventures and decorate him with seashells, flowers, and other found trinkets. While he maintained his gruff exterior, a closeness began forming between the two. Her parents had another litter! Hina welcomed her siblings with warmth, although she was also glad that the majority of the attention would now be on the newest litter. Maybe she could finally stop overthinking her position in the colony...

Ever curious by nature, Cassie is always chasing new experiences and knowledge. She’s not the type to ask a question without following it through to an answer — and she genuinely can’t understand people who don’t want to know. Quick-witted and playful, she can sometimes be a bit much, a fact she’s well aware of and tries— often unsuccessfully —to rein in. She knows she can come off as annoying when she gets wrapped up in the why of things and loses track of how she sounds, but she’s sincere in her apologies and always means well.

「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] Her family were wanderers who stopped their travels only when she and her siblings were newborns. Life was chaotic at times, but fun. She remained with her family until adulthood. She left home without a goodbye and set out in search of adventure. [Rogue Breeding!] Cassie found herself pregnant during her adventures. Having shared a night with multiple ma'duwi in the last few months, she found herself unsure who the other parent could be. It wasn't much of a concern for her, anyway — she didn't need someone else to help raise them. [New Colony!] Except, pregnancy led to mobility issues towards the end, and hunting grew harder and harder. She stumbled upon the Starborne while seeking somewhere safe to give birth, and while they originally came off a bit, uh, odd, she grew fond of the star-lovers. She ended up giving birth on their lands and accepted the offer of residency. Raising her children meant she had to stay home more often than she wanted to, and while there were caretakers within the colony, Cassie really wanted that one-on-one experience with her kids. She still couldn't fight back the restlessness in her legs as each day passed, and when they became teenagers, she was quick to join an Adventurer Party with a large number of Starseekers accompanying (including even one of her kids!).

Allie knows a little bit about everything, and if she doesn't, then she's going to learn about it! Sociable and friendly, Allie views new encounters as a chance to make new friends and learn about other ways of living. While she generally just likes learning, Allie really likes the study of archaeology and will talk someone's ear off if they even show an iota of interest in the subject. She likes collecting lost relics and has a fairly cluttered "trinket hole" she is immensely proud of.

「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] Her parents hadn't expected children, but they were happy to raise their sole daughter. Her childhood wasn't remarkable, but it was happy. She left home in her adulthood and began traveling, immersing herself in whatever the world threw at her. She discovered a love of archaeology and began collecting small relics along the way. Once her horde was too big to port around, Allie located a nice cave within the forest lands to call her own. [New Friend + Breeding!] Allie stumbled upon Matcha while out for her evening walk. He was sweet, if a bit shy, and she made sure to revisit him throughout the upcoming months. Their friendship slowly grew into something else, which led to Allie's first pregnancy! [Mated!] The two became life partners shortly after the birth of their two children, and Allie quickly set to work making her home acceptable for more hooves. Her relics were mostly designated to a hole she lovingly called the "trinket hole". She settled into family life happily.

What is the point of life if one cannot express themselves? While Deimos can be shy upon first encounter, he is incredibly open about his thoughts and feelings and assumes everyone else is, too. He'll believe just about anything, as long as it's not too ridiculous or outlandish. This makes it difficult to understand small nuances or passive-aggressive behavior, as he figures someone will just tell him directly how they feel. He's fairly good with conflict and feels comfortable discussing harder topics, as long as everyone is equally calm and willing.
He is creative and artistic, finding beauty in just about everything. He likes various sorts of making, especially ones more abstract. Not everything he makes has a particular meaning or purpose — he just enjoys the act of creating over finding a purpose to do so.

「◇ ◇ — History」
[Born!] While his parents had a fairly unconventional and at times tumultuous relationship, Deimos did not want for much growing up. His mother was open about her adoration for her children, and his wandering father would always visit with presents and affirmations of his own affections for him. He discovered a joy for creating art as a teenager, although he originally tried to bury it in favor of something more "useful" for the colony. While the Starborne had never made him feel like he needed to be anything other than himself, there was a part of him that resembled his father — a part of him that wondered if his aspirations were good enough. This internal struggle continued into his adulthood. He used it as an excuse to delay his Starjourney, but truly, he was just afraid of what the ultimate answer might be. He chose instead to shadow others at work, learning a few skills along the way. His father joined the Starborne, much to, well, everyone's surprise. Not only that, but his parents officially became mates! Seeing his father be true to himself encouraged Deimos in his own pursuits, pushing him to finally sign up to begin his Starjourney.
